Ahead of its time: The HELGOLAND
To ensure that the interior of the ship is also barrier-free, a panoramic elevator was installed by LUTZ Elevators. The semi-circular elevator allows access to the salon areas, the atrium and the upper decks, which are spread across the levels.
The HELGOLAND is ahead of its time. The ferry is powered by environmentally friendly LNG and docks on the high seas island in such a way that everyone can leave the ship barrier-free. To ensure that the interior of the ship is also barrier-free, a panoramic elevator was installed by LUTZ Aufzüge. The semi-circular elevator allows access to the salon areas, the atrium and the upper decks, which are spread across the levels.
The cabin is equipped with a mirror. This not only makes it easier for wheelchair users to maneuver, but also allows passengers to enjoy the view of the atrium at the heart of the ship from all angles. The through-loader is accessible from two sides, and an easily accessible transverse panel provides additional accessibility, allowing even the smallest visitors to select their level. The floor of the cabin displays a compass - it hardly gets any more maritime.
